Free Resources for Writers

What kind of free resources for writers can you find on this site?

For starters, there’s my e-book, Writing for First-Time Novelists. In it, I’ve tried to distill the knowledge I’ve gained over the past 30 years of maintaining a regular writing routine into an as-short-as-possible handbook, written in accessible language. You can download it for no cost. (You can also purchase a print version from Amazon if you prefer the feel of paper in your hands, as I do.)

I’ve written numerous articles on writing, many of them originally published in The Writer magazine. You can find them in the On Writing tab of this website. The most popular one seems to be “How Aristotle Can Help You Become a Better Writer.”

And last but not least, My Writing Network, a project that I conceived and built, offers free websites to anyone with an interest in writing. If you are, or would like to become, a blogger, poet, short story writer, novelist, playwright, academic or non-fiction writer, then MWN is for you. It’s also there for publishing professionals: agents, editors, proofreaders, cover designers, and anyone else who works with or around writers. Anyone who has anything to do with writing is welcome to join MWN for free, create a site, and participate in our Forums, the private Facebook group, or the private Reddit community.
