I spend a fair amount of time on Reddit.com, which is where you can peruse various subreddits (sites within the site) that are tailored to your interests. One of my favorites is /r/permaculture. Today, a user named dontjudgethename posted this link to the University of Illinois’s country agricultural extension’s website about compost. It’s brilliant. I’ve never seen compost broken down (sorry) so succinctly anywhere else. I learned quite a bit, including the fact that I don’t need to worry about adding pine needles to my compost any more–the process tends to neutralize pH.
